Giving Away Freely

I’m home from my trip with my mom and it was fantastic! Truly, it was SUCH a blessing to be able to spend so much time together exploring new places. France was way better than I ever dreamed it would be. Honestly, the food, the people, the smells of spring…I loved it all! So looking forward to getting back there some day.

And the Colour Conference in London was fabulous! I cannot wait to share with you in the next few weeks some of the things that I got to learn from some truly phenomenal women who spoke at the conference!

Speaking of sharing, did you know that one of THE things we are called to do as Christians, and especially as leaders, is to give away all that God has given us, and for free?  In Matthew 10, when Jesus sent out His disciples to neighboring towns to share the Gospel with people who had not yet heard (or seen it), He sent them out saying this, “Go and announce to them that the Kingdom of Heaven is near (or has come).  Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!” (Matthew 10:7-8) Whatever God gives to us, we are to give away, whether it be health, freedom, wisdom, insight, gifts of hospitality, knowledge, joy…the list goes on and on and on.  Jesus freely healed the disciples of their sickness, freed them of demons, cured them, and Jesus even raised the dead!  As disciples (followers) of Jesus today, Jesus is still sending us out to freely give away what He has given us AND in the same power and authority that He sent out the disciples 2000 years ago.

What has God given you that you can give away?  Time, wisdom in a particular area, the gift of hospitality, a listening ear, freedom from depression…?  We are blessed to be a blessing.  It’s like the gift that keeps on giving. 🙂 Once we’ve received it from God, we get to bless others by giving it away freely to others who can also benefit from it!

This week, I pray that God will help you to realize the things that He has given you and will show you how you can give it freely away to others in need.  The joy truly is in the giving, trust me and try it! 🙂

Thank you, beautiful, for all you do!
